Today, we left SLC and entered into Idaho on the 15 freeway. Bill and I have been in Idaho before but never this part. Boy, is it gorgeous!! Lush just barely describes the green farms and fields. At Idaho Falls, we turned off onto the 26 and soon found ourselves in an area that must be Idaho's version of the Palouse - just rolling, flourescent green!!! And then...?? It just got prettier and prettier! We dropped down into an unbelievably beautiful valley, replete with a grand expanse of the Snake River. It looked like Alaska to me - and you know that has to be good!! The bad news? No photos of these scenes - because, again, I was driving! It's so hard to let these incredible views go past undocumented - but I will be back! I'll just have to drive back in the truck and get those images to share with you!
Bill has a faithful audience when it comes to lunch...!
Leaving Utah. Not bad! But not as stunning as we have found Idaho to be so far.
OK, now we're in ID and it's getting better already. The clouds today were awesome, and between the wonderful sky, green grasses, and grey-blue-green sage brush, it all had a pastel look to me.
Pretty hills.
Isn't it idyllic?
Simply scrumptious!
Unfortunately, Bill's back got really bad today. He's now back to how he was before any of our medical experiments... (sciatica going down through both knees, etc.). We bought a special "gel memory foam mattress topper"at Costco today, and he's asleep on it right now. Let's hope it helps!!
