Later that morning, we picked up and moved to Cardston. It was a relatively short drive - I'd tried to find a spot that was still fairly close to Waterton, so I could zoom back if "need be!" And of course, the weather was somewhat stormy, and the lighting was stunning while we were leaving Waterton. That drives me nuts when that happens! The best photo conditions, and I'm trapped in a moving motorhome! Oh well, c'est la vie! Have to keep perspective here - on how lucky I am in general to be doing any of this at all!!!
And here you can see just how long it takes some of the family members to settle into a new campground setting... Yeah, right!
"Mom, can you stop with that flash! Cats are sleeping here!!"
OK, you can draw your own conclusions on this new look for Billy...
Little farm on the prairie - under some impressive storm clouds!
OK, this is actually from Sept. 3rd - but I don't think you care about those dates (just my silly perfectionist, trying to maintain order, self!). But on this morning, we had planned to drive back to Babb, MT, to pick u our mail. But, despite the best-laid plans... It didn't happen. But, here's a nice view of Chief Mountain!
And here's a not-so-nice view... This is the ine-up at the border crossing that we got to see through our windshield... Our border crossings had all been fairly easy and quick, so we were not at all prepared for this wait!!! We sat in this line for 45 minutes. It hardly moved at all, and because we knew that the Babb post office had very short hours on Sat. and we would most likely miss them, we finally gave up. We turned around just short of the US guards but still got to go through the Canadian part. The Canadian officer was very good at his job and cracked us up because he knew all about the Babb post office hours, etc. - we must not be the only ones crossing the border for mail! We got to see him again when we went back a few days later for our second attempt at mail retrieval. Moral of the story: don't attempt border crossings on Labor Day weekends!!!!!
