Aug. 16 - Kalispell, Columbia Falls, and a photo friend!

 Flathead Lake.
Moving up north to be on the west side of Glacier National Park and to visit with a friend from my photo club who part-times there.

Yup, still more of Flathead Lake.  It's a BIG lake!

The old downtown part of Kalispell.

Not something I had expected to see or think about.  But I understand meth addiction is a huge problem in these areas.  And judging by the translations, it must be rampant in the Indian communities as well.  Very sad.  What a mess.

Photographer Kathy and her hubby, Robert, in their beautiful home (notice the lovely fruit prints - Kathy is very talented and has adorned her home wth some really great images!).  They were so nice to have us over for dinner, and despite having family coming to stay with them soon, Kathy squeezed in some photo time and gave me the grand tour of much of Glacier.

And at dinner at their house one night were these other sweet little guests!  (forgive the crappy photo quality - all I had with me was my point & shoot, and it was pretty dark and from far away!)

Momma and her two babes grazing, right below Kathy & Robert's back deck!  And later, on another night, there was a bald eagle that kept flying over the river behind their house!  Nice when nature comes to you, eh?  Of course, in San Diego, you have to be careful with that - if you build in the more still-wild areas - you can easily find a rattlesnake in your home with you!  And in many areas of Montana, you'd better beware with food storage or you'll be visited by bear!

Two, too sweet, yeah?
