Aug. 17 - Glacier NP, 1st visit

Good grief!  OK, so I'm over a month behind now, after our stay in Canada!  So let's get back to it and see how far we can get now!

Back to Montana - to Glacier National Park.  My first day into the park was with friend Kathy.
Here is Lake McDonald (west end), early enough in the morning to still have a bit of fog.

And a cute bunny on the way up to the Avalanche Gorge (I didn't get any really good photos of the gorge on this outing - so stay tuned, better one in later entry!).

Then up to Logan Pass.  Kathy and I walked part way up the boardwalk, towards the Hidden Lake overlook.  But we didn't make it that far because the walk was still covered in snow farther up (just a week or so later, it was almost all melted!).  This view is looking back to the visitor center.

St. Mary Lake (east end of Glacier).

Hmm, well, can you tell what this picture is of?  (hint:  there are six of what you're looking for!  Answers at the end...)

Yup, 6 of these...bighorn sheep.

Pretty water, pretty river.  I think it's called McDonald Creek (and yes, it must flow into Lake McDonald!).

One of the Going to the Sun tour cars, going where else?  To the Sun?  No, they were headed the other direction, so...to the Moon??

Can you see them now?  They blend pretty well in those rocks, don't they?!
