Day 2 - To Topaz Lake

OK, no ribbing! So here I am, behind on my blog once again! Not my fault! Our last RV park had zero Verizon signal, so no phone, no internet,...! But I'm back on-line, so let's catch up now!

On Thursday, we left Bishop and continued on up the 395 to our first real destination - Topaz Lake. The drive up was very pretty. With all the snow and rain, things were quite green. And we were amazed at all the snow on the mountains still (even heard that skiing was still happening at places like Mammoth on July 4th!).

After a quick lunch stop at the famous Mobil gas station/restaurant (Tioga Toomey's Whoa Nellie Deli, where you can get hamburgers to lobster to steaks to pork roast,...!) in Lee Vining at the east entrance into Yosemite, we continued on past Mono Lake.

Past Bridgeport, through Walker, to Topaz. I'd been there once, but it was when things were covered with winter snow. What a different - and beautiful - look with all the green, cattle-dotted valleys, snow-streaked mountains, and frothing rivers!

There's no place like home...or no place like Big Brother's Butt! I'm sure Larry the Cable Guy would have something to say about this set-up...!

One of the main reasons we took this route to get to Wyoming - our friends, Karl & Peggy!

Hmm, I know there are all sorts of designs for mouse pads these days, but...!
